In this picture, I first desaturated it by lightness, to give it an even grayscale look. Next, I used the curves tool and very carefully adjusted the end regions to make the tree appear darker but still naturally shaded while making the sky and the rest of the background lighter. I think it came out well.I also used the sharpen tool on the stop sign because I thouhgt it would be a cool thing to highlight, but it didn't work out as well.
