I just created this because I needed an image idea to test GIMP and this was the first thing I thought of. I'm better at photo shopping or editing photos in one way or another. Better works coming soon!
I went through several crisis while creating this and learned that I could put the more difficult bits on another plane and have them duplicated there. That means I could spawn a dozen easily and saved an hour or two of hassle. The oval clouds took a minute but the eraser tool with the backround color the same made it easy!
